CH3- Bisous

Bisous
**********************

I could tell that Youngbae was taken aback and he grew rigid, feeling his lips against mine. “Relax” I whispered, barely lifting my lips. He was still immobile when I did some quick thinking and ran my tongue over his lips. That did the trick and I smiled. He opened his mouth and started to respond. I kissed him like I really mean it and he did, too. I felt his arms embracing me, pulling me closer to him and we are now on a full blown make out session.

Running out of breath, I ended the kiss and then acted like unembarrassed at all even though I can see through my peripheral vision that a lot of people were staring at us. I especially saw Teacyon and Jun whose mouths are hanging open. I can see the caption in their heads “What the F*UCK did just happen?!” I smirked. Just the reaction I was hoping to get.

I kept my left arm around Youngbae’s shoulder while my right forefinger traced his juicy lips. Well, they really are juicy and red. I wiped traces of my red lipstick on him and smiled. “That was hot…” I teased and quickly bit his bottom lip before finally letting him go.

“You still have my number, right?” I asked, loud enough for the ones near us to hear. I gave him a look, willing him to say yes.

“Uh, yeah” he nodded.

“Good. Call me when you’re free.” I then looked at the 3 girls who looked equally shocked as the boys. “Oh, you’re on a date?” giving Krystal a look over and them dismissing her with my eyes. “I’m sure your mother forced you again” showing a commiserating face. “I’m sure you’re bored but you know who to call if you wanna have fun! Or…”I continued “why don’t you just drop by my place? I can’t wait to have a repeat of that night.”

He blushed.

I chuckled.

Okay, Dara, you’re going over the top. I reprimanded myself.

I then went near Nick and said my goodbyes. “I’m afraid I can’t join you and your friends tonight” I said, giving his arm a squeeze. “I believe I’ll have a visitor and we’ll be … very… busy…” I gave a suggestive wink at Youngbae before taking my leave.

I belatedly realized that I didn’t get to recruit new clients but never mind, I had fun. It was getting late anyway and I still have to drop my dress to the dry cleaners. Sunny, one of the girls I work with will use it tomorrow on her date.

******************

I woke up around 10AM and made myself a cup of tea and a piece of toast. I need to be at the Black Widow café by 11M so I hurriedly finished my breakfast, folded my mattress and arranged it together with my 2 pillows on top of a small wooden cabinet. I then took a quick shower and made my way to the bus stop.

I made it to my day job with 10 minutes to spare.

“Unnie!” I heard the voice of Suzy as soon as I opened the glass door. I then saw Sohee running towards me, flinging his arms around my body causing me to almost lose my balance.

“Wow! Good morning to you, too!” I joked, wondering over the over enthusiastic greeting.

“It is a good morning!” she cried.

We are now joined by 2 of our dongsaengs, Sunny and Suzy. The four of us share the same work and became friends after meeting here in Gummy’s café. She established Black Widow shortly after the escort agency, Spider. Most of the girls working under her needs to work other part time jobs when they don’t have client missions so she took everyone in agreed to let us work in the café whenever we have free schedules.

I looked at the giddy faces of the 3 girls in front of me. I know something is up. “Spill it.”

Sohee was gushing as she presented me her left hand wriggling her fingers.

I caught sight of the shiny diamond ring on her left finger. “Oh my God!” I exclaimed.

Sohee continued spazzing and began a series of little jumps. I joined in her happiness and jumped along with her. Soon after, the 4 of us were holding hands jumping around the café like little girls playing ring around the rosy.

The other girls working at the café and some of the customers just looked at us amusingly. The people who know us knows that were crazy when we get together. We are popularly known as the S4, given that our names all start with the letter S. It was Sunny who coined it. Her being a fan of Boys Over Flowers.

I gave Sohee a tight hug after as I said my congratulations. “When did this happen?”

“Just last night” she answered. “I thought he was going to break up with me since he said that he accepted the job offer in America. So there I was, crying my eyes out, when he all of a sudden got down on his knees and said that he couldn’t leave if I won’t go with him and that he asked me to marry him!”

I can see that her eyes are misty from recalling the incident and I gave her another hug. “I’m so happy for you, chingu” I sincerely said “but I’m also sad at the same time knowing that you’ll be leaving us soon…”

Suzy wrapped her arms around me and Sunny placed one arm on my shoulder and the other one on Sohee.

“Unnie, please take care of yourself there, okay? And don’t forget to send us messages in Twitter or Facebook” she said.

“Of course. I’ll tweet you every day.” Sohee assured Sunny.

“We will miss you” our maknae said with a face like a kitten. Suzy is 19 and joined the agency last year together with Sunny. Her specialty is acting cute and innocent like a schoolgirl. In truth, she came from a broken home and was almost sexually abused by her stepfather before she escaped and met Sunny.

Sunny, she’s 20 and she’s the tomboyish type with her short hair. Her face is cute and full of mischief so it’s a contradiction of the style she’s projecting. She grew up in the streets and she’s tough as nails. Even Sohee and I, who are older by 1 year won’t win against her when it comes to arguments, not that we have many. Just the usual bantering between sisters.

Meanwhile, I met Sohee 2 years ago when Gummy brought me in. We didn’t get along at first but after one night of drinking, we unexpectedly became friends. She also came from a broken home and I guess that’s what banded the 4 of us together. We became each other’s family and relied on each other in this tough profession that we chose.

Feeling that the atmosphere has taken on a gloomy turn, I thought of a way to dispel it. “I have an idea!”

They all looked at me. “Let’s all go to this new club this Saturday and celebrate Sohee’s engagement!”

They all agreed happily and once again, we danced around the café and giggled like little girls until Gummy called our attention from the second floor of the café. “Girls, I’m sure this calls for a celebration but you are blocking the entrance” she slightly admonished. I looked at my watch. My shift should have started 5 minutes earlier. Crap! I didn’t notice the time.

“Sorry” we chorused all looking aegyo at her.

She chuckled. “Now get back to work” she motioned with her hands. “And don’t make plans this Sunday. All of us are going on a short trip as a send off party for Sohee”.

“Gumawo Unnie!” Sohee said, teary-eyed. She then put one arm around me as we made our way to the employee’s room to change into our uniforms.

**************************

It’s now 10PM and I’m here at Lucky 7. It’s a club owned by Dongwook, the boyfriend of my good friend Byul. I have been working here 3 times a week as a ledge and poi dancer. I met Byul 6 months ago when I enrolled in a poi dancing class. Dancing has been my escape since I was in middle school and it has also become my means of exercise.

Byul and I immediately hit it off and she was the one who recommended me to work at Lucky 7 a month ago. She knows of my escorting job and she wanted me to find a better one for safety reasons she said. I appreciate her concern but she also understands my reasons why I can’t leave that job because I needed to save money. So for 2 hours, with breaks in between, I get to dance to my heart’s content and earn good money. The tip alone can cover for my meals and transport fare for the day.

For tonight, I’ve prepared a J.Lo dance number medley. That’s for my first set. After, I will also do poi dancing and I’m excited to use the new glowstrings that I bought – neon purple and pink. Using real fire was not permitted so instead, I do glowsticking. They give the illusion of fire and the lights director minimizes the light during my performance for maximum effect. It has become a hit amongst the clubbers. Sometimes, I would go down from the ledge and the small stage and dance seductively to some of the male customers. All I do is tease them and they love it. I usually take my cue from Duekkie, one of the floor managers. He subtly directs me towards the tables where there are VIPs and gives me a warning if a particular group is too rowdy or drunk so I won’t go near them.

For tonight, I was told that some personal friends of Dongwook are coming to celebrate a birthday. I already know where they’ll be sitting so I guess I’ll have to pay them a visit later during the show.

I checked my backless, metallic gold sequins mini-dress with thin shoulder straps. I know I’m not well endowed and pretty much have the figure of a teenager but thank God for push up bras and butt pads, right? Haha. One last check for my hair and make-up and I went out of the dressing room.

“It’s showtime, Dara. Nolza!” I psyched myself.

CH2- The Beginning

The Beginning
************************

Dara decided to go to the buffet table first since all she’s had were 2 glasses of champagne. She found her way to where the finger food area is and sampled some canapés and fruits and cheeses. The salmon caviar canapé was the best and she has just bitten her second one when she was interrupted by a gentleman who tried to get her attention. She heard the voice coming from behind her. “Hi, I’m Nick” he said, extending his hand. “May I have the pleasure of knowing the name of such a wonderful looking goddess?” he flirtatiously continued.

Dara kept herself from rolling her eyes. She just looked at his right hand and gestured at the canapé she’s holding on one hand and cheese on the other. He understood and smiled. “Would you like some wine?” he asked but didn’t bother to wait for her reply and motioned for a waiter and got her a glass of red wine.

Dara smiled appreciatively as a sign of thanks and leisurely finished chewing her food, finishing the cheese and accepted the wine. She surreptitiously glanced at the guy standing next to her and she’s deciding if he’s worth her time. He’s too much of a pretty boy and everything about him screamed rich. She definitely doesn’t think that he’ll need her services anytime soon or in the near future. And she’s not one to flirt either because she’s not looking for any relationship with the opposite sex whether it’s romantic or otherwise, unless, of course, there’s some profit to be gained.

Nick, however, was patiently waiting for the beautiful girl to turn her attention on him. But she looked like she’s more interested in the food in front of them. He cleared his throat. “It’s good to see that someone is enjoying the food here. Which ones do you recommend?” he asked, glancing at the table.

Dara has just finished what she’s eating and pointed at the salmon caviar. “I see you have expensive taste” Nick said. Dara gave a small smile.

“Mmmm...Delicious” he tasted all the while looking at Dara.

She was about to move to the little pastries area when she felt Nick following her. “Hey! I still didn’t get your name” he pouted.

Dara found him really cute so she relented and offered her hand. “Sandy”. That’s the name that she goes by when she’s at work.

Nick turned all the charms and kissed her hand. “A beautiful name for a beautiful girl,” he winked.

Now, Dara started to regret indulging the guy for he’s obviously a player. She pulled back her hand gently.

“How come I’ve never seen you before?” Nick asked.

“Well, I’ve never seen you before, either” Dara replied.

“Darn. And I thought I’ve met all of the beautiful girls in South Korea. Did you just arrive in Seoul?” At first, Dara didn’t follow his train of thought but then she got his drift.

“Well, I’ve been travelling …” she bluffed.

“That explains it.” Nick nodded. “So, where did you travel? Europe? America?”

“Around” she answered vaguely. “Well, it was nice meeting you” she said, turning her back on him.

“Wait!” she felt him touch her arm just above her elbow. “Um, did you come with someone? I mean, are you with someone? If not, you can join us…” Nick was flustered. Sandy is obviously playing hard to get. Girls don’t play hard to get when it comes to Nickhun.

Dara weighed her options. She saw some older men earlier who may potentially be interested in their agency but there may be some opportunity with the younger market. Besides, it’s not all the time that she gets to mingle with the society’s “IT” crowd. Her jerk of a date boasted that many rich people will be attending the engagement ceremony and that there would even be celebrities. She was thinking of the commission she’ll get from referrals if she gets to recruit new clients and thought of the drama Coffee Prince and Kim Sam Soon. She chuckled to herself. What are the chances that a chaebol will need help and hire a pretend boyfriend/girlfriend to escape a marriage arrangement?

“Actually, my date had to leave early. You know, emergency with his company...”

Nick couldn’t hide his pleasure when he heard what she said. “Then, Miss Sandy, care to spend some time and grace me and my friends with your presence? This party was heading to boredom until I met you.” He said with a slight bow.

Dara can’t believe that this guy is so cheesy. Good thing he’s cute or she would be puking by now. “My pleasure” she replied in equal formality and they both chuckled.

He guided her to a table with 5 equally gorgeous guys and started the introductions. Dara was right. These are all chaebols and she’s not so sure if it’s a good idea to hang out with them. They kept on flirting and vie for her attention and asked her of the famous places she’s been to and she was afraid to get caught in her lies. Thankfully, two girls approached their table after around 15 minutes.

“Nickhun-oppa!” cried one with a lot of aegyo.

Dara remembered that voice.

“Taecyon-oppa, you didn’t call me like you promised” said the other one with a pout.

“Sulli. Victoria” Nick said, acknowledging their presence.

Ah, so he’s the Nickhun she heard the girls gossiping about in the ladies room, Dara realized. Now that she can see the girls real up close, she can see that they must also come from rich families. They look absolutely flawless. In a rare moment, Dara felt inferior. It took her years to build up her confidence and being with these kinds of people makes her feel lacking in many ways. She tried not to think about her insecurities and kept the smile on her face.

“Who’s she?” Victoria noticed, glancing at Dara.

Dara smiled to herself. Well, they may look classy but their personalities definitely are not.

“Vi, don’t be rude” Nick admonished. “Sandy, meet Victoria and Sulli.”

“Hello” Dara said but the 2 girls barely acknowledged her.

“Oppa” I heard that JYP Club will have David Guetta as the guest tonight, Victoria said. “Why don’t we go after this?”

The rest of the guys were already saying yes excitedly but then Sulli interrupted them. “We just have to help Krystal ditch her date.”

“Who is she with?” the one named Jun asked.

“Youngbae”

“Ohh..” there was a definite air of understanding all around like they know him.

“Seriously, I don’t understand why T.O.P.N.G.D. hangs out with Y.B” Jun said.

Dara wondered why he’s spelling out the alphabet.

“Yeah” Taecyon agreed. “He’s lame.” He added with a smirk.

“He’s not that bad”, that one came from Wooyong.

“C’mon look at him…” Jun gestured to where Krystal and Youngbae are sitting.

I followed their gazes and saw a pretty girl looking bored and a guy coming near her with a plate of food. After the guy put the plate in front of the girl, she must have said something because the guy scratched his head and took back what he brought and went back to the buffet table.

“Poor guy” I said to myself. She’s ordering him around like a slave. I guess she wants him to feel bad enough to leave her alone. I took a sip of my red wine and sighed.

“Will you join us after the party?” Nick asked, claiming my attention, looking hopeful.

“I don’t know…” I answered, noncommittally.

“C’mon it’ll be fun…”

“I’ll think about it.”

I noticed the 2 girls are glaring at me. I was tempted to say yes just to piss them off. But I won’t gain any profit from it and I did not want to waste my energy on them. They then turned to Jun and Taecyon and asked for their help to lose Krystal’s date.

I made up my mind that I’m just wasting my time in their table so I excused myself and planned to mingle around the party. Nick offered to accompany me when I said that I’ll go to the ladies room. I don’t want him to know that I have no plans to join them again later so I declined.

“I can find my way” I said.

“Okay” he gave me a smile. “We’ll wait for you okay? Come to the club with us?” He really seems like a nice guy. Too bad his friends are cocky and seemed so full of themselves based on the stories they regaled me earlier.

“We’ll see…” I said and made my way to the ladies room when I passed by Krystal’s table. I noticed that she intentionally spilled her glass of wine on the shirt of the guy. I heard her say sorry but it didn’t sound sincere to my ears. The guy, meanwhile, kept saying that it was okay and kept on smiling. I remember him now. He was the one who lent me his handkerchief.

***************************

So there I was, doing my business inside the cubicle when I heard 3 voices enter the ladies room. I rolled my eyes. Why do I always meet them in this place? I asked myself. I heard them planning their escape with the rest of Nick’s friends without alerting their parents. I figured their families are also in attendance. They also talked about Krystal’s date and that the guys will take care of him and how a loser he is, with laughter that forebodes unpleasant things. I didn’t come out until I heard them leave.

Aish! I opened my purse and saw the damp hanky. I can’t give this back to him now that it’s wet. I felt a little something in my chest. Maybe…pity? A plan formulated in my head. “Dara, are you sure about this?” I asked myself. “Tsk. Might as well” I answered aloud. I usually do this and talk to myself. It has become a habit that I can’t break. I’m weird that way.
I checked myself in the mirror before going out. I arranged my hair to make it look more seductive and re-applied my red lipstick. Now that’s done, I need to find him first. And just like fate is on our side, I saw him coming out from the gent’s rooms.

“Hi”, I called him.

He stopped and looked at me. “Hey” there goes his smile again.

“So, I wanna thank you for lending me your handkerchief earlier. Seems like we’re in the same predicament” I glanced at his white, now stained, long sleeved shirt that his suit couldn’t fully conceal.

He gave a slight chuckle but didn’t say anything.

“What’s your name?”

“Y-Youngbae”, he seemed surprised. “Dong Youngbae” offering his hand.

“Sandy” I just said, shaking his hand.

“Well, Youngbae”, I started, sounding conspirational, “I believe that this is your lucky day.”

“I believe that you need my help” I continued.

“I do?” he looked confused.

“Don’t worry, just follow my lead and you’ll be fine” I assured him.

“I don’t understand...” he started “you’ll help me with what?”

“Your reputation” I declared. “So why don’t you…” I looked around the function hall and saw Nick’s group and the three girls standing together in one corner near the ice sculptures, “join your friends and whatever I do, Just go with the flow. Okay?”

“O- Okay” he reluctantly agreed. I’m sure he’s confused as hell but I didn’t want to explain any further. It’ll lessen the fun for me.

I made a shooing motion and a wink. “Trust me.”

********************

I waited 3 full minutes before I made my move. This is very uncharacteristic of me and I felt magnanimous all of a sudden. Anticipating the mischief that will happen, I made my way over to where they are.

“Sandy” Nick offered his hand, motioning me to stand beside him. I did. Then I was all smiles as I surveyed them when my eyes landed on Youngbae, looking surprised.

“Youngbae? Wow! This is a pleasant surprise” I acted and seductively walked over to him. “Missed me?” I teased as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and then I snaked my right hand at the back of his head and pulled him in with our faces just inches away. “Coz I missed you” I said before crashing my lips to his.

CH1 - Her Circumstance

Her Circumstance
*************************

“Bitch!” my date spat as he threw the remaining contents of his wine on my face. I was caught off guard and I’m starting to feel the stinging pain in my eyes. I suppressed the tears because I didn’t want him to think that I was crying because of what he’s done. It was the damn wine!

“You’ll have to pay extra for dry cleaning”, I told him looking at the mess he’s done on my very expensive cocktail dress.
“Why you..!!!”, he began to make a move as if to slap me but his friend managed to pull him back away from me. “You are going to regret this!” he threatened.

“Oh, yeah?” I smirked. “Well, I tell you this. No one, I repeat, no one will ever agree to go out with you again in this city. I’ll make sure of that after the stunt you pulled so you’d better work hard on getting a personality make-over because that’s the reason why you’re a loser!”

“Huh! You think so highly of yourself, you whore!”

“Let’s just get out of here”, his friend interrupted. He kept on looking from side to side, afraid that the people in the party will take notice of the scene and result to a scandal. Finally, the jerk realized that they can be easily seen from the corner of the hall, behind a huge plant, where he pulled me after I bit his tongue.

It was his fault anyway. It was stated in the contract, which he signed, that French kissing is not allowed. Certain occasions call for some kisses but torrid ones are a no-no. Sometimes, there are clients who think that just because they paid you to be an escort, that you’ll go all the way with them if they paid extra or something. Geez!

This is the first time that our agency worked with him. Usually, Gummy-unni is very careful when accepting new clients for her girl’s protection. But he was referred by a longtime client so we all thought that he was okay. He needed a date for this engagement ceremony where he’s relatives with the bride’s side. His wife recently divorced him and he wanted to show his family that he’s doing well and that he found a much younger woman in his life.

I immediately sensed that he’s going to be a problem early on in the night. He was very touchy and clingy and close to being drunk. The first time that he shoved his tongue in my mouth, I let it go thinking that it was just brought about by alcohol but the second time; I didn’t care if we were in front of his relatives. I bit him so hard that I tasted blood. Ha! Served him right. The bastard!

“I’m not done with you!” he said as a parting shot as he allowed his friend to guide him out.

“We’ll send you the bill!” I replied, in a tone made his eyes bulged when he turned to look at me. I smirked.

I turned my back from them and proceeded to walk to the ladies room with my head down. “You’re okay, Dara. You’re going to be okay.” I kept saying to myself. This is my mantra whenever bad things happen to me. I have no time for sentiments like being sad or sorry for myself so I developed a protective wall around me over the years and refused to let any hurt get in. Really, I’ve become an expert.

I didn’t notice that I almost bumped into a guy. He held my arm as he helped me keep standing steady. “Are you okay, Miss?”

“Yeah, I’m alright” I answered and looked up.

He must have seen that my face is wet so he reached inside his pocket and handed me a handkerchief. “Um, here” he shyly offered.

“Thank you, but I’m fine” I declined.

He extended his hand and insisted. “I think you need it”.

Wanting to get to the ladies room quickly, I accepted and said my thanks.

The guy smiled and his eyes kinda disappeared when he did and looking at his smiling face made me smile, for some reason. I made a slight bow and turned to leave.

***************

“Aish!” I muttered, looking at the mirror, once inside. The wine did not do much damage and only dampened the upper front part of the dress but my makeup looked messed up. I looked around and saw a hand dryer and decided to stand under it or what I can manage to get under it. Good thing no one was inside because I kinda looked stupid so I decided to take advantage of that fact before I wash my face. After a couple of minutes, 3 ladies came in so I stopped what I was doing and proceeded to wash away my make-up.

“Oh God, I can’t believe that guy”, I heard one of the girls said.

“I know”, said the other one.

“Ugh!” the third one said in exasperation, rolling her eyes as they each went over to where I was, checking themselves on the mirror. I couldn’t help but see their reflections as I continued to wash my face. “I swear if only my Mom didn’t threaten to hold off my allowance I won’t go out with him. Our Mom’s are gym buddies.” She explained.

They freshened up their make-up and continued their gossip while I wet some paper towels and went inside one of the cubicles. I could hear them making mean comments on the girl’s date like he’s so awkward and unfashionable, etc.

“Now I believe the rumor that he’s still a virgin!” They laughed.

“Definitely not my type!”

“I know what your types are, Krystal. You like them experienced and wild!”

“Tsk. Are you sure you’re talking about my ideal type, Sulli? Or yours?” teased by what I deduced to be Krystal.

“Hey! We all know that we like beastly guys.”

“Victoria!” said the two.

“What?” she laughed. “It’s not like I’m not telling the truth.”

They laughed.

I silently laughed inside my cubicle having finished wiping away the sticky residue of the wine on my chest.

Oh, if only guys knew what girls talk about inside the ladies room. This is one of the reasons why us girls go in groups. Ha!

“I saw Nick-hun earlier and his friends. I bet we can have an after party with them later. We just have to lose your date.”

“Victoria! That’s so mean. I Iike it! What should I do?” Krystal said.

“Gah! I cringe thinking what the Oppas will say if they see us hanging out with him.”

“And what’s up with his corn rows? I mean, does he think he’s hip hop or something?” Again, I heard derisive laughter coming from them.

“IKR. Maybe Sulli and I can just meet you after an hour?”

“Don’t you dare leave me with him!”

“Let’s just be mean to him and hopefully he’ll get the message” suggested by the black haired girl as I emerged from the cubicle and saw them leaving.

“We’ll think of ways” the one who looked the youngest said as the door closed.

I sighed and looked at my bare face in the mirror. This is the reason why there are guys who get traumatized by girls, thus, leading some of them to solicit our services.

I work at one of the reputable escort services in Seoul. I have been for 2 years now after a very bad relationship. Actually, Gummy-unni, my boss, who also owns the agency, was the one who saved me from that relationship. I don’t want to dwell on bad experiences so I don’t think much about the past. I’m in a better place now. “Yes,Dara. You’re in a better place now” I affirmed.

Not the ideal job or situation but still, a hell lot better from where I was years ago.

I plastered a smile on my face. I loosened the two hairclips which holds my hair in a messy but sexy bun and shook my hair which fell very nicely on my back. It didn’t cover all since the length of my spine was showing but its better. I turned to see and the length covered half of my exposed back. Good. I smiled. A genuine one. There were some men earlier whom I noticed leering at me when my jerk of a date paraded me across the function hall. Men! They are all the same. They all think with their d*cks!

I put on fresh make-up and decided to go back to the party. There are a lot of very rich men in this 5 star hotel and I might meet some potential clients for our dating agency, Spider.

“It’s showtime, Dara. Fighting!”
